Flood
from 13 October

While a storm alone does not necessarily lead to the (temporary) suspension of ferry services, this is the case at the latest when our ships can no longer be boarded or disembarked with dry feet. In the past, this was viewed somewhat more sportingly, but today not every passenger wants to take off his/her shoes and legwear to get on and off the ship.

The same applies to the vehicles, which do not necessarily benefit from travelling through salt water. In addition, at the unprotected ferry pier in Dagebüll, ships can damage themselves and the ferry bridges during storms from westerly directions. For this reason, in the event of a storm surge, our ships remain moored on Föhr or Amrum until the high tide has receded.
